Me on the shores of the lake near our campsite at Partille, near Gothenburg.
Statue outside the Gothenburg Art Gallery.
Some great architecture and trees on our walk to Haga.
An engineering work of art. They built the building around a rock.
The entrance to the Aeroseum outside Gothenburg. A cold war installation now a museum.
A SAAB Viggen, way ahead of its time in the 1950's
The Viggen from a rear angle.
A later model from SAAB, the Gripen.
The cafe inside the underground bunker and hangar.
Statue of Gustav II Adolf, who chose the site for the city of Gothenburg.
One of the many canals around Gothenburg. This place, like Copenhagen, had a large Dutch influence.
The Gothenburg Museum, a wealth of knowledge well set out.
The last surviving Viking ship in Sweden. Not quite what we were expecting.
Another Volvo driver! Very early model including a crank handle. Before the time of starter motors.
Side on view of the Volvo. Very cool machine.
Just a wonderful scene. It is the Chinese Consulate.
Me in front of a chestnut tree. We had to ask at the Tourist Bureau what it was.
At a stopping point on the road from Gothenburg. Castle ruins with a massive lake behind.
The picnic area associated with the stopping point. Sweden is so green with trees everywhere.
In the newer part of Stockholm.
Central Station in Stockholm. Most cities in Europe have impressive buildings.
The bridge to Gimla Stan. So many people enjoying the sunshine.
A random view on Gimla Stan. So old world.
The tourist shop strip on Gimla Stan.
A church on Gimla Stan. It was not open when we were there. A very high impressive spire!
More from Gimla.
A glorious vista looking across the water from Gimla.
The Royal Palace and other buildings.
Another shot across the water.
Can't get enough of the buildings here.
Karl XII statue.
The Nobel Prize Museum in Gamla Stan, Stockholm.
Buildings around the same square.
Inside the Nobel Museum.
They had mock up work stations of famous Laureates. This one was that of Elizabeth Blackburn, from Tassie who won in 2009 for medicine. Also the first Australian woman Laureate.
An enlarged Medal, set in the floor. It is well over half a metre across.
Three life size Medals. They are strung in front of a presentation ceremont photo. Centre is Peace, right is Economics (added after his death by the Swedish Central Bank, and the left for the others.
One of the four dragon gargoyles on the church we saw a couple of days ago. Long zoom.
Me in one of the alleys in Gamla.
The narrowest alley in Copenhagen.
From the other direction.

The National Museum building. Sensational.

Same building but from the back
First of too many photos of the Vasa Warship, sank in 1628.
The ornate sculpturework on the side of the stern.
The stern, again, so ornate. Totally without function but stunningly good.
A closer shot showing the detail on the stern.
A rear overview.
Closer shot of more chacters on the stern.
A scale model of the Vasa as it would have looked.
The Nordiska Museum from the end. Stockholm has so many beautiful buildings.
King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden at the Nordiska Museum.
Some photos demonstrating the beauty of the architecture around Stockholm
More Stockholm
Julie on the clifftop walk.
View from the Cliff.
Parts of Gamla Stan from the cliff.
More beautiful buildings with the clifftop walk to the right.
Courtyard at the Royal Palace Stockholm. The largest palace in Europe.
Ceremonial Crown worn by all the Queens going back many centuries.
Staircase in the Palace.
One of the bigger rooms.
A passage inspired by Versailles' hall of mirrors.
A view from the Palace.
Our cheap campsite in Karlskoga.
View from our camping pitch in Grinsby.
One with the van in as proof.
Looking back at the campsite from one of the headlands of the bay in the lake.
Zoom shot of the van.
Julie in the forest which is right near the water's edge in Grinsby.
View from our 5.5Km hike through the forest.
